Job Description Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician to join our team. The Lab Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, preparing samples, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring accurate data recording and analysis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in laboratory procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Job Description

The following duties will vary according to the needs of the department. Normal duties will include:

Job Duties

• Bacteriology
• Set up cultures
• Identify bacteria and report results
• Prepare Equipment and Supplies
• Wash and disinfect equipment.
• Autoclave materials and supplies.
• Maintain and order supplies as needed
• Quality Control
• Evaluate and communicate problems in test procedures to the supervisor.
• Miscellaneous Duties
• Learn new procedures as they become part of the routine tests performed in the lab.
• Comply with ISO Standards
• Weekend Work
• Availability on weekends is a must as Bacteriology Department operates seven days a week.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be a Self-Motivator with ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
• Good communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills
• Team oriented
• Valid driver’s license
• Be proficient with computer, including Microsoft Excel and Word
