Responsibilities
The successful candidate will possess a diverse range of data-focused skills and experience, both technical and analytical. They will have a strong desire and capability for problem solving, data analysis and troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and experimentation.
- Working with large, complex, and disparate data sets
- Designing and implementing innovative ways to analyze and exploit the Sponsor’s data holdings
- Researching and reporting on a wide variety of Sponsor inquiries
- Raising proactive inquiries to the Sponsor based on observations and proposed data analysis/exploitation
- Solving difficult, non-routine problems by applying advanced analytical methodologies, and improving analytic methodologies
- Developing custom searches
- Communicating and coordinating with internal and external partners as needed
Qualifications
Required Experience, Skills, & Technologies
- Strong Java programming/development skills and some hands-on experience
- Experience with or knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework such as Angular
- Experience with or knowledge of Spring and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA
- Experience with or knowledge of RESTful services
- Strong ability to manage competing priorities and communication to multiple stakeholders
Desired Experience, Skills & Technologies
- Experience with Ext JS (v3 and v4), Groovy (v2), Grails (v2), and Bootstrap (v3 )
- Understanding of SQL and Elasticsearch
- Experience working and interacting with different types of data stores (e.g. Oracle, Elasticsearch)
- Cloud experience, particularly AWS
