Position Purpose
Oversee recruitment and enrollment of students who meet the admissions criteria and can benefit from the academic program provided. The Assistant Director of Admissions (ADOA) is expected to maintain high standards in enrollment and student starts and be among the leaders in this area. The ADOA must set the positive example of personal production performance in addition to taking responsibility to assist in leadership of the admissions department. The ADOA may assume responsibility of managing one or more areas within the Admissions Department in conjunction with or during any absence of the Director of Admissions. An employee may also be designated with a title of Senior or Master Assistant Director of Admissions based on fulfillment of designated proficiencies and benchmarks.

Job Responsibilities
- A focus on attracting students who are qualified and likely to complete and benefit from the education and training provided by the school and not simply obtaining enrollments. It is not permissible to become involved in admission testing or admission decisions, including signing and accepting the enrollment agreement
- In concert with the Campus Director of Admissions, leading the Admissions Department in providing assistance to all company developed inquiries (both previously received and new), through the complete inquiry cycle from inquiry to start including, taking inbound calls and making outgoing calls, scheduling appointments, interviewing students, receiving applications, making recommendations regarding prospective students ability to benefit from the education and training, and doing the necessary follow-up to ensure that students attend orientation and start school as scheduled
- Evaluates each prospective student based on his/her needs, desires, interests, qualifications, motivations, commitments, and determinations
- Recruits and enrolls students to attend the school in accordance with established admissions criteria and who can benefit from the academic program provided
- Completes and maintains all required paperwork and data entry in an accurate and timely manner
- Presents information to prospective students and others regarding school’s programs and tuition and fee schedules, refund policy, payment plans and other school policies and procedures for the purpose of enrolling prospective students into one of the school majors in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements
- Acts as a resource for other Representatives who need information about school policies, fee schedules and financial aid
- Refers students as appropriate to financial aid and the Veterans Administration
- Verifies admissions criteria for admission to the school
- Assists prospective students in completing the admissions process in the most efficient and supporting manner
- Assists students with finalization of enrollment process and start date
- Conducts tours of school for prospective students
- Represents school at various open houses or weekend events
- Develops an ongoing relationship with the prospective student from enrollment through graduation
- Acquires and maintains a knowledge of base of the objectives, goals an direction reflecting that of the school in general and in the Department of Admissions
- Maintains an up-to-date and organized file of all policies and procedures of the Admissions Department and applicable regulatory standards and keeps the personnel in the department abreast of all changes and modifications as they are implemented
- Acquires and maintains a knowledge base of information on Financial Aid, Marketing and Student Assistant Director of Admissions
- Assists in organization and directing open houses and assist with student orientations
- Provides training of student tour guides and Admissions Representatives in preparation of tours given to prospective students and their families
- Assists in the training of representatives and new hires on company practices and standards and in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements
- In absence of Director, will act in his/her place
- Manages specific area(s) within the admissions department, as requested by the Director of Admissions
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Admissions/Sales preferred
- Knowledge of the educational environment and the ability to interface with faculty and administration on all levels
- Excel and Word application experience
- Knowledgeable of all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies’ standards and requirements relating to admissions
- Effective, flexible, high-performance leadership and team management skills
- Ability to coach and assist in the growth and development of individual Admissions team members
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
- Consultative approach with excellent listening skills
