Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate eager to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance. As an Accounting Intern, you will support the accounting team with a variety of tasks, including processing vendor invoices, reviewing employee expense reports, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and identifying and resolving financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
This is a full-time, paid summer internship that provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment. Outstanding performance during the summer internship may lead to a potential Co-op type position for the remainder of the year.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining account reconciliations.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Assist with special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Current enrollment in a bachelors or masters program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (experience with Costpoint is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
