Aviation & Missile Solutions (AMS) is currently seeking an AMD Release Team Product Owner to join our Huntsville, AL. team.
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Release Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for the prioritization of software release needs, validation of software documentation, and overseeing media configuration management (CM) for developmental software. Ensuring media is complete and correct before a software release. The release team PO will be expected to communicate with all POs, especially the continuous test team PO, to ensure test and release schedules remain aligned with customer expectations and priorities. The PO will need to keep a broad awareness of software activities to assess how updates and changes may affect media, documents, and schedules. PO will communicate with IFMC PO CM to ensure delivery needs are met. The PO will provide guidance to the release team and OEM CM, related to release media and documentation. The product owner will work with Program management in setting ongoing priorities and schedules for the release team. The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
Experience and Skills:
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must have the ability to provide oversight to the Software release team and verify the team's work based on customer needs, priorities, and deadlines. The candidate must be able to work directly with a wide array of people, including, Agile software developers, OEM leadership, and the AMD PEO MS customer. Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be detail oriented. Must be comfortable managing various, miscellaneous tasks daily.
The candidate must:
- Be fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- Be a US citizen.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred).
- Have a minimum of 5 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed above.
Other Qualifications:
Configuration Management, document management, or technical writing/editing experience is a plus. Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master is a plus. Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence is a plus.
Security Requirements:
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
