ATS Hiring an Associate-Level Certification Engineer!Prior certification experience preferred, but not required
SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, the Certification Engineer Associate ensures compliance to all current FAA and CAA (Civil Aviation Authorities) regulations and mandates within ATS Engineering Solutions. This position develops Project Specific Certification Plans (PSCP) for both PMA and STC projects and programs as well as other certification tasks. This position manages tasks provided by the Lead Certification Engineer or Engineering Management and interacts with different members of internal organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares PSCPs and submits for review and approval.
Assists to provide certification specific technical guidance in compliance with FAA and CAA orders to Project Engineering Teams.
Provides status and input for FAA and ATS Certification matrixes to include PMA and STC log, Post STC log, and FAA correspondence log.
Assists with post STC customer requests as directed.
Assists with coordinating internal certification activities to ensure major milestones are achieved in conjunction with program requirements.
Assists with coordinating certification problem solving activities and developing course of actions to ensure timely problem resolution.
Provides status and input for PSCPs, certification milestone schedules, and certification budgets.
Informs Lead Certification Engineer on risks, issues, and action items.
Assists in implementing new processes and procedures within the Engineering department to help improve efficiency.
Adheres to the processes and procedures of ATS and ATS Engineering and notifies Engineering Management when these procedures are not followed.
OTHER DUTIES:
Assists Certification Lead, Project Lead, and Engineering Management with additional tasks when business needs arise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
AUTHORITY:
This position is prohibited from performing any safety sensitive functions to include the accomplishment or direct supervision of the following:
Aircraft maintenance – This includes inspection, overhaul, repair, preservation, and the replacement of parts.
Aircraft preventive maintenance – This includes simple or minor preservation operations and the replacement of small standard parts.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY:
Duties shall include observing all company, health, safety and environmental rules, ensure provision of full information on area specific safety orientation, identify all unique hazards, and are provided with the proper equipment to carry out the job in a safe manner. Also, the entire work area must be routinely inspected to maintain a high standard of housekeeping and low incidence of physical hazards and all accidents must be promptly reported.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Experience in aerospace certification preferred.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Normal business office conditions generally prevail. The noise level is usually low to moderate. Employee may be working in a cubicle, enclosed office, or open area. Floor may be carpeted or bare.
