What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Aircraft Maintenance position at Aviation Technical Services?
SUMMARY: The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations in assigned functional area. Ensures that maintenance tasks and functions are carried out in compliance with the applicable requirements of the air carrier maintenance program and their inspection procedures manual. Provides training and development for mechanics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides supervision, guidance, and prioritization to assigned team, across multiple specialties and ATS requirements.
Ensures that all work performed by self or those under their supervision, including subcontractors, is performed in an airworthy manner and in compliance with approved technical data and has had all maintenance steps accomplished.
Utilizes customer package to ensure proper maintenance planning and execution, ensuring application of FAA and customer requirements.
Supervises the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service any aircraft or part thereof.
Coordinates communication to Leads and crew as needed which may include aircraft safety, planning, and quality.
Validates material on order and coordinates with internal support organizations to ensure necessary product and services can be delivered when required.
Coordinates Engineering priorities. Works with Engineering Dept to ensure responses support aircraft delivery milestones.
Responsible for keeping all assigned areas clean and audit ready. Identifies and eliminates hazards that pose a risk to employee safety and quality of work. Ensures compliance with safety requirements.
Responsible for on-time delivery and adjustments to aircraft delivery schedules.
Reviews routine and non-routine labor hours prior to exceeding allotted estimated hours.
Coordinates maintenance labor requirements between skill sets on projects, and in conjunction with other maintenance lines, to ensure most efficient utilization of labor and resources.
Communicates aircraft status with customers using ATS schedule tools and in person communication.
Understands and follows budget review plans for assigned aircraft and ensures targets are met. Communicates variances with Manager.
Ensures mechanics are properly trained, and assists mechanics in proper procedures, methods, and practices to be followed in each respective duty. Continuously evaluates the OJT program.
Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.

Proven knowledge in the procedures, practice, inspection methods, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in the work which the station is rated.
Detailed knowledge of paperwork and publications and an understanding of technical information in order to facilitate troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of FAA regulatory requirements to include FAR Part 121 and 91 carriers.
General PC skills and knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
General working knowledge of Oracle, AutoTime, Gateway programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years’ recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years’ aircraft maintenance leadership experience preferred.
Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
