Description
The Human Resource Generalist offers administrative support to the Director of Human Resources for all personnel matters. This role includes assistance in functional areas of the human resources department, which may encompass recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee relations, performance evaluations, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, and training.

Essential Functions of the Position

- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Conducts in-processing for new employees.
- Conducts out-processing for separating employees.
- Leads all new employee onboarding activities via HRMS. This includes verifying I-9 documentation and maintaining files.
- Submits new employee background checks.
- Conducts audits of various benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
- Updates HR spreadsheets with employee change requests and processes paperwork. Prepares weekly “Domestic” and “International” hiring updates for HRD.
- Assists with the preparation of the employee performance review forms.
- Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.
- Leads recruitment and interview process.
- Prepares and sends postage via U.S. Postal, UPS, or FedEx.
- Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
- Submits yearly employee HR training via HRMS and manages the process.
- Process foreign visas for employees traveling on business.
Requirements
Associate’s degree from an accredited college and two years of working experience in the human resources field OR High school graduate with a minimum of 4 years of experience working in a human resources department.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of the Human Resources Department in a corporate office.
- HR Certification, including the PHR from HRCI or SHRM-CP from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
- Knowledge of Office Administration Procedures.
- Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA) knowledge.
