About the Role
The Aviatrix Distributed Cloud Firewall (DCF) Engineering team is responsible for delivering performant, resilient, and scalable firewall solutions to our gateway appliances. The DCF infrastructure spans the Aviatrix multi-cloud solution and includes policy structures dynamically applied to changing enforcement locations, infrastructure for messaging, upgrade, high availability, as well as security features that contribute to the Aviatrix end-to-end multi-cloud solution.
Responsibilities
- Design core software components
- Develop control plane logic primarily in Golang
- Develop data plane filtering logic in C/C
- Coordinate with other teams to deliver features end-to-end
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various DCF components
- Can complete small features independently without guidance
- Proactively identify and drive changes as needed for the product
Qualifications
- 5 years relevant software development experience building enterprise-grade software at scale
- Experienced in software design, implementing and delivering features independently without guidance
- Proficiency in Golang
- Knowledge of Networking Protocols: TCP, UDP, TLS, DNS, DHCPv6
- Security protocol experience, (e.g., SSL, Authentication and Authorization, firewall)
- Prior working experience on one or more Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, Alibaba cloud, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent software engineering skills: ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Team player that works well in collaborative situations and start-up environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication
- Nice to have: Experience with Routing protocols like BGP, proxy software, configuring and maintaining the software, IPv6, PKI infrastructures, eBPF programming, overlays and tunneling technologies
Salary Information
The US National annual base salary range for this full-time position is $150,000 - $165,000 (Champaign, IL) benefits 401(k) match equity.
