Key Responsibilities:
Claims Processing:
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies.
Issue Resolution:
- Work directly with insurance companies, third-party payers, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and inquiries.
Insurance Verification:
- Review and verify patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing.
Follow-Up & Documentation:
- Follow up on outstanding claims, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
Financial Reconciliation:
- Post payments and reconcile accounts receivable.
Record Maintenance:
- Maintain patient billing records and assist with financial reporting.
Compliance & Policy Improvement:
- Handle and resolve billing issues while ensuring compliance with relevant insurance guidelines, and assist with the development and improvement of billing policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years in medical billing, with a focus on insurance processing (3-5 years preferred).
Certification:
- Certified Medical Biller is required.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance billing practices.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle insurance claims and patient inquiries professionally.
Detail-Oriented:
