Overview
AVICO Distribution is a family-owned business that has been serving Upstate New York for over 95 years. We are a food services distributor with a cash-and-carry store presence. We primarily deliver to businesses such as restaurants and pizzerias, and also sell directly to businesses and the public at a cash-and-carry store.
At AVICO, we recognize our colleagues are our number one asset and we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Store Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining efficient cash and carry store operations, ensuring that products are stocked, organized, and readily available for sales. This position requires strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude, as you may interact with team members and customers to ensure their needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming products appropriately
- Inspect items for defects and report as required
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Restock shelves and maintain product availability on the shelves as needed
- Follow all business procedures and safety measures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or retail environment is preferred
- Experience with pallets hand trucks
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for the work involving lifting and moving heavy loads
- Basic computer skills
- Be able to lift/carry packages up to 75lbs regularly.
