The IT Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architectures, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices. This role involves working with enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud security technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance cybersecurity defenses.
The ideal candidate should have experience managing network security, firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection systems, and Cisco-based security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain network security architectures to protect critical infrastructure.
- Design and implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and virtual network security solutions.
- Configure and optimize firewalls, routers, switches, and security software.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
- Ensure compliance with IT security regulations, data privacy laws, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure integration of cloud services and hybrid environments.
- Implement and maintain IT security frameworks, including ITIL, Lean IT, and Cisco security best practices.
- Monitor network traffic for anomalies and potential cyber threats, implementing incident response protocols.
- Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, policies, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and recommendations on network security investments and upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT security, network security architecture, and cybersecurity engineering.
- Expertise in network security principles, intrusion detection, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco security solutions (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDE certifications required).
- Hands-on experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, ITIL).
- Experience in cloud security for hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in cybersecurity and network risk management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.
Would be nice to have:
- Experience with Lean IT concepts and security automation.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security models and SIEM solutions.
- Hands-on experience in enterprise security infrastructure modernization and digital transformation projects.
