We are hiring Kitchen Supervisors for one of our Colorado Overnight Camp locations:
- Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1-5), Evergreen, CO
- Work to keep the kitchen in compliance with state regulations regarding cleanliness and sanitation.
- Manage all dietary restrictions so that all campers and staff have plenty to eat with a variety of meals.
- Prepare and serve delicious, nutritious meals for all campers and staff.
- Work with the kitchen team to provide for different programs, including expeditions, continental breakfasts, and cookie raids.
- Engagement with the campers and staff to be part of the camp experience.
- Manage and lead dining services team for team cohesion, commitment, and enjoyment within positions.
- Minimum 18 years of age by the start of camp training.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen is highly preferred for Kitchen Supervisors.
- ServSafe certification required, Avid4 Adventure covers the cost of this certification.
- International Staff: To qualify for a J-1 visa, you must be currently enrolled as a student during the time of your visa application.
- Work Schedule: 35-40 hours a week. Shifts are split mornings (6am-2pm) and evenings (1pm-9pm), 7 days a week. Eligible for overtime pay.
- Position Duration: Training begins May 28 and programs run from June 1 through August 2
- Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure.
- Kitchen Supervisor: $15.55/hour
- Housing: Housing is available on-site in our cabins. Facilities are shared with our other staff and campers and include sleeping arrangements, full bathrooms and showers, and laundry on site. Room and board is available for a $100/weekly deduction ($400 monthly) and includes all meals. Kitchen staff are not required to stay on the premise.
