We are hiring Overnight Camp Instructors for the following locations and roles:
Camp Blue Sky (Grades 1- 5) - Evergreen, CO
Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) - Bailey, CO
We have very limited non-driver positions available at both camp locations and have no more non-driver Instructor roles to work specifically in our girl's cabins. In order to drive for us, candidates must be 20 at the start of training and possess a valid driver's license. Candidates who do not qualify to drive for us will be considered for Specialist roles including Mountain Biking and Rock Climbing
In this role you will
Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants during all activities.
Co-lead daily outdoor programming including mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, SUPing and Leave No Trace principles.
Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals
Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants
Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities
Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs.
If you are a trained Driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans.
Candidates with increased experience in one or more of our core sports may serve as a program area expert (i.e., as a Specialist) either supporting multi sport camps or instructing single sport camps in: climbing, mountain biking, whitewater paddling, or survival skills.
Your Background
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp for all positions (no more non-driver instructor roles to work specifically in our girl's cabins)
Must be at least 20 years of age to be eligible for a Driver position
1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred
Experience in one of our core sports is preferred, but not required for Instructors
Demonstrated personal and/or professional experience in one of our core sports is required for Specialists
Minimum of Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done) Some positions at Camp Windy Peak may require a Wilderness First Aid (or WFR/EMT) certification.
Important Details
Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with one evening off/week and segments of other time off throughout the week.
Position Duration: Training begins May 17; overnight camp programs run from June 1 through August 2.
Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly are below:
Instructors: $425/week
Specialists: $446.25 - $488.75/week, position dependent
Seasonal Rate
Instructors $4528.40 / season
Specialists: $4789.99 - $5313.00/ season
Relevant Certification Bonuses: $100- $400 per certification (up to $1,000)
