Job Description: Avina Clean Hydrogen is in search of a Director, Project Execution to champion and oversee project delivery efforts, ensuring the timely and cost-effective accomplishment of project goals. This full-time, onsite role is based in Short Hills, NJ or in Houston, Texas. The Director, Project Execution will play a pivotal role in coordinating cross-functional teams, steering project schedules, and proactively assessing risks while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in the industrial gas/EPC sector, demonstrating expertise in industrial gas project execution, strong leadership, communication skills, and a history of contributing to successful project implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead all aspects of project development from land acquisition, permitting, feedstock procurement, pre-FEED, FEED and EPC execution activities for clean fuel projects across diverse markets in the United States.
- Contribute to the development of project management tools, processes, and standard operating procedures. Work closely with commercial teams to support offtake customer negotiations.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams (EPC firms, renewable teams, customers, and other partners) from detailed engineering to commissioning, ensuring projects are executed within budget and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a relevant field required; master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in managing multi-phase, multi-million dollar projects in oil & gas, engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, with a focus on full lifecycle design, build, and launch.
- Proven skills in managing cross-functional teams and leading multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict resolution ability, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience in clean hydrogen, energy, and sustainability preferred but not required.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities and ambiguity with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and geographies.
- Experience in effectively managing project budgets and schedules.
