Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Integrated Futures Capabilities Architect to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Serve as a key team member of the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell, working on new concepts and Systems of Systems Integration.
- Evaluate and develop software approaches to integrate new and existing defense systems.
- Lead software teams in a large software development environment.
- Work with real-time systems and diverse software development.
- Prototype and integrate new software interfaces.
- Identify and resolve problems for system design and integration.
- Investigate and present technology solutions to improve performance.
- Assess customer and user needs following agile principles.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions.
- Break down complex ideas into manageable tasks.
- Coordinate needs and priorities with Product and Solution Management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 7 years of combined Government/DoD experience performing similar duties.
- Strong understanding of air and missile defense concepts.
- Experience with real-time systems, diverse software development, and prototyping.
- Capable of leading problem identification and resolution for system design and integration.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence, DevSecOps technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and SAFe agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE).
- Prior Software Architectural/Engineering leadership experience.
- Ability to make decisions, think critically, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
