POSITION: Rental Sales Associates (RSA)
JOB SUMMARY Complete rental and return transactions. Determine customer rental needs by utilizing established sales techniques. Sell Avis / Budget protection products, services, accessories and supplies to customers, based on customer’s needs, following established procedures and sales techniques. RSA shall perform other duties including but not limited to 10-point inspections, organizing vehicles on the lot, and cleaning the exteriors and interiors of our rental fleet. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete rental transactions and agreements for customers following established guidelines and procedures. Obtain required authorization, signatures, addendum, confirmation numbers, etc. which includes completing qualification procedures prior to renting vehicles. This may include motor vehicle record check, credit card authorization, personal check validation, etc.
- Maximize vehicle rental and sale of incremental products, accessories and services based on vehicle availability and customer needs. Utilize strong customer service skills, and established sales techniques in order to meet sales goals set by management. Budget Truck Rental’s products include protection products, moving supplies, moving accessories, etc. Budget Car upsells include protection options, refueling program, special promotions, upgrades, etc.
- Review completed contracts with customers to verify accuracy of information. Explain rates, charges, and protection product coverage to customer. Provide customers with completed rental agreements, keys, directions to rental vehicles, maps, and any other assistance required.
- Complete transaction procedures for returned vehicles. Verify accuracy of contract closing. Ensure correct charges for refueling and taxes, if applicable. Explain charges to customers. Complete accident reports as required and submit to appropriate area within established deadlines
- Perform 10-point inspections. Assist in other service areas as assigned including checking in returned vehicles for body damage, inoperative equipment, safety hazards, etc.; cleaning vehicle exterior and interior checking operation of vehicle accessories, brakes, lights, steering, etc.
- Secure company assets in assigned work area. Maintain cash drawer and complete cash reconciliation report following established procedures before and after shift. Maintain inventory of supplies at workstation, including rental agreements, accident reports, etc. Maintain lost and found following established procedures.
- Answer telephone inquiries from customers utilizing established telephone techniques. Respond to customer questions and complaints. Resolve problems such as arranging for emergency road service/towing for customers. Refer unusual or more difficult problems to Agency Operator / Manager.
- Responsible for conducting outbound calls to prospective customers to gain truck reservations and verify customer needs.
- Complete and submit required paperwork, including pick-up/delivery schedule, extension lists, rate surveys, etc.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area. Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company guidelines regarding uniforms and/or dress code.
- Read and remain current on company announcements, bulletins, notices, etc. in order to stay abreast of company programs, promotions, restrictions, rates, etc.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- This position has internal contact primarily with staff in immediate work group as well as with staff in the service department and customer relations to relay information. May also interact with staff at other locations that rent Avis / Budget vehicles.
*JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of successful sales and customer service experience in CAR RENTAL
