What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Specialist position at Avis Budget Group?
Responsible for the overall safety and security of the Shared Services facility and grounds.
What you'll do:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides a safe work environment for staff, vendors, and contractors by ensuring all safety policies and practices are followed at all times
- Secures entrances, monitors cameras, and performs regular interior/exterior patrols
- Answers front desk phones as needed, and forwards calls as directed
- Respond promptly to security/fire alarms, emergency call system activation, and any perceived threat to facility or individual security. Follow established procedures for contacting appropriate authorities
- Frequent communication with security staff and vendors via phone and two-way radio
- Acknowledge and respond to all Alarms as directed by the Site Security Supervisor
- Maintains log books and completes detailed written incident reports as needed
- Frequent interactions with employees and guests
- Checks in and provides appropriate badges to all visitors and guests
- Manages access control / badges / key sign-in and sign-out process for vendors
- Provides facility escort for multiple vendors
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, which may be required for extended periods of time
Knowledge/Skills and abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
- Knowledge of security protocols, procedures, environments, hazards, and equipment
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Capable of handling crisis situations calmly and efficiently
- Effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
What we're looking for:
Experience/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) certification preferred
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License with no restrictions
- 2-4 years of prior security related experience
- Military or law enforcement experience a plus
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts, if needed
