Software Engineer 14171 A leading professional networking company is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Developer Productivity Team. The candidate will develop a complex customer onboarding infrastructure, diagnose issues, and monitor and improve the reliability and latency of the service. The project involves validation tools, specifically a record and replay tool to be productized and operationalized. The candidate will work closely with customer teams to continually optimize our product's user experience. Software Engineer Pay and Benefits :
- Hourly pay : $55-$75 / hr (pay varies based on the candidate's location and experience)

- 40 hours / week, 6 Month Assignment Software Engineer Responsibilities :
- Participate in the technical design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are successfully executed meeting LinkedIn's standards for quality software engineering.
- Design and ship high volume of elegant code with foresight to avoid performance, scalability, usability, maintainability, availability and testability issues.
- Maintain understanding of latest technologies and tools and leverage them to improve existing products and services.
- Identify opportunities within the team for potential leverage and reuse by developing libraries, APIs, and shared services.
- Assist in the onboarding and ramp-up of new engineers.
- Contribute towards the definition of product and technical roadmaps.
- The team handles both backend development and some DevOps tasks. Software Engineer Qualifications :
- 4 years of software engineering experience.
- 2 years proven track record of developing large-scale highly available services and systems in Java and Python.
- BA / BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in devops and monitoring.
- Experience working in a product or similar products with many microservices is beneficial.
- Experience with DevOps tasks like setting up monitoring, alerting, and instrumentation.
- Experience with both REST and gRPC is beneficial as LinkedIn is transitioning from REST to gRPC.
- Understanding the challenges of service interaction in a large ecosystem is ideal.
- Working experience in the development as well as consumption of Web Services APIs (JSON / XML / RPC / REST).
- Working experience of build systems, databases, especially MySQL, and Linux-based infrastructures.
- Demonstrated understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
- Demonstrated understanding of architectural models and technology stack used for developing highly scalable and highly available web applications and systems.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies.
- Basic networking knowledge of TCP / IP and HTTP.
