POSITION PURPOSE:
Under the general supervision of the Clinic Manager, the Vaccine/Employee Health Coordinator will perform certain clinical duties. Clinical duties may include administering vaccines and medications, and forecasting and ordering of Vaccinations organization wide as well as medical assistant support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Order vaccines from the Vaccine Manager and monitor vaccines.
- Maintain VFC Compliance.
- Address phone calls regarding vaccines.
- Forecast next day Pediatric patient vaccines.
- Training Employees for vaccine administration/documentation.
- Maintain all vaccination records and request vaccination records.
- Report monthly the vaccine report to the Vaccine Manager.
- Participate in offsite vaccine clinics as directed by Aviva Health administration.
- Counsel PH patients for travel vaccines.
- Injections and immunization administration.
- Responsible for administering vaccines and flu shots to walk-in traffic.
- Administer TB tests.
- Work directly with the Learning and Development Clinic Training Coordinator, for all new employee vaccinations/blood draws, including tracking and follow-up.
- Perform data entry and generate employee and facility wide TB and Hepatitis B compliance reports.
- Work directly with the Vaccine Manager to provide and track employee seasonal flu vaccines.
- Load data in Alert and Athena.
- Responsible for meeting criteria to achieve QI goals.
- Provide MA support to various departments including but not limited to, Pediatric Department and Mobile/Event Clinics.
- Provide back-up support to the Vaccine Manager during their absence, including but not limited to DPHN communication and vaccine reporting to state.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2-years’ experience in Hospital or Clinical setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying bodies: American Allied Health Association, National Center for Competency, or the National Health Career Association.
- Current BLS certification (maintaining current certification is required for continued employment Aviva Health).
