The Mobility Mentor provides case management, career counseling, and follow along support utilizing a research-based model to assist participants with setting personal goals related to economic self-sufficiency. The Mobility Mentor supports clients in economic success, power and autonomy, and increased understanding of their value in the communities where they live and work. The Mobility Mentor will travel to different community sites for meetings with participants, regular program meetings, and community events.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist participants with obtaining and maintaining competitive employment.
- Provide career counseling services that include but are not limited to supporting participants with interest assessments, labor market research, goal setting, preparing for interviews, completing applications, creating, or revising their resume, advocating for participants with employers and community organizations, providing job leads and job search coaching.
- Implement the Bridge to Self Sufficiency using the model to guide goal development and on-going case management and career counseling services.
- Support participants to update and achieve their Individual Employment Plan goals.
- Engage in business development to connect participants to employment opportunities through new and existing relationships.
- Represent Avivo at employer-sponsored events that support cooperation and networking with recruiters and hiring managers
Qualifications
What You Offer:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years in human services or related field experience.
- If bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Services, or other related field held, only 1 year experience required.
Preferred:
- Previous work with adults experiencing barriers to employment.
