Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Summer IT Intern to join our IT department. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, networking, and user support within a dynamic non-profit environment. The intern will work closely with our IT team to ensure the security and efficiency of our systems and provide support to our users.
Key Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Assistance:
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing security platforms.
- Support the implementation of security measures and protocols.
- Help resolve vulnerability assessments and penetration testing results under supervision.
- Contribute to incident response efforts and documentation.
Networking Support:
- Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure.
- Help monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
- Participate in network security assessments and improvements.
User Support:
- Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in setting up and configuring workstations, peripherals, and accounts.
- Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Participate in user training sessions and develop user guides.
General IT Tasks:
- Collaborate with IT staff on various projects and initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of IT processes and systems.
- Support the team in ensuring compliance with organizational IT policies.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, and IT support practices.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and common software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
