About the Role:
The Director of Operations will be responsible for managing and improving Allied’s daily operations, including order fulfillment, supplier coordination, logistics, and customer service support. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives in execution, process improvement, and team management. The person will oversee multiple departments, ensuring all teams work together efficiently to deliver exceptional service and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and support all departments, including operations, procurement, logistics, customer service, and coordination with sales and marketing, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee and coordinate the daily execution of order processing, supplier engagement, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline workflows.
- Supplier and Logistics Management: Ensure strong supplier relationships, confirm product availability, and manage 3PL partners in California and Hong Kong to ensure on-time delivery.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve operational challenges such as supplier delays, shipment discrepancies, and customer issues.
- Team Development: Train and develop staff across functions to ensure high performance, accountability, and adherence to operational standards.
- Reporting & KPIs: Monitor operational performance metrics, report regularly to company leadership, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaboration: Act as a key point of contact between operations and the broader company leadership, ensuring operational alignment with company objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 5 years in operations management, supply chain, or logistics, ideally within the electronics or industrial components industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing cross-functional teams with an ability to lead through influence and direct management.
- Operational Expertise: Deep knowledge of order processing, procurement, supplier negotiation, inventory management, and logistics.
- Tools: Proficient with QuickBooks Enterprise or similar ERP systems; familiarity with order management and shipping software.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams and vendors.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
