What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Planner position at Avo Photonics?
Avo Photonics (www.avophotonics.com) is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops, and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff can design, prototype, and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.
We seek a diligent, dedicated, and meticulous Manufacturing Planner who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Establish daily and weekly production build schedules to meet customer demand
- Release and distribute production orders to meet build schedules
- Maintain subassembly stock to appropriate levels
- Ensure production jobs close accurately and within the defined period
- Coordinate with Inventory and Manufacturing to resolve any material issues
- Present open job status regularly to enable problem resolution
- Analyze demand and identify any potential material shortages; alert Program Managers when new orders are needed
- Manage routings and Bills of Material within ERP/MES systems
- Work with Finance to set-up new items in ERP system
Requirements:
- B.S. in Operations Management or equivalent experience
- 3 years of Manufacturing Planning experience with ERP systems
- Highly proficient in spreadsheet applications
- Comfortable working in cleanroom environment
- Proven ability to communicate and lead effectively across organizations
- Experience leading teams for problem resolution
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and concisely
