JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a diligent Hotel House Person to maintain cleanliness and orderliness in our hotel. The ideal candidate will assist with various housekeeping tasks to ensure a pleasant and safe environment for guests and staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Remove soiled linens from rooms.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization in storage areas and supply rooms.
• Assist the housekeeping team with cleaning guest rooms when needed.
• Perform scheduled carpet cleaning.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines to provide a clean and hygienic environment.

Note that this is not an inclusive list and team members are at times asked to assist with other tasks to best serve the business. Other tasks may be assigned by the Executive Housekeeping Manager or other managers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 years of experience a plus

Skills & Abilities:

• Commitment to guest satisfaction and service excellence.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. Ability to work under pressure, be calm, organized, self-motivated, and work well with others.
• Ability to read, speak and understand English in order to follow directions, and procedures, and communicate with the team (using a translator app if necessary).
• Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely with minimal supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Equipment to Be Used:

• Various cleaning tools including vacuums, mops, brooms, dusters, and chemicals.
• Washer, dryer, and iron when necessary.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires
• Stand and walk off and on throughout the shift. Walk up/down stairs.
• Bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing and sometimes stressful work environment.

Work Environment:

• While primarily an indoor job, one must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions.
• Will work primarily in guest rooms as well as public areas and laundry room on occasion.

Location:

• Located at 19 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC 29401, The Vendue is in the heart of Charleston’s French Quarter and Art District.
• Steps away from Waterfront Park, Charleston City Market, and Rainbow Row, along with other historic attractions, shopping, and dining.

Hourly Pay:

• $15.00 per hour full-time. Overtime will be paid at time and a half for any hours over 40 in a week.
• Sign-on bonus: $250 awarded after 3 months of employment and an additional $250 will be awarded after 6 months of employment.
