Position Title: Science Long-Term Substitute
Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers Science for grades 7-12.
- Degree from an accredited college or university.
Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee
Evaluator: Building Principal and/or designee
Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.
Period of Assignment: Start ASAP through End of School Year
Responsibilities: The Science Long-Term Substitute has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
- Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's curriculum, particularly the Science discipline.
- Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development.
- Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
- Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
