Position: Interventionist
Location: Avon High School
Qualifications: Experience in the area of reading and mathematics remediation are preferred skills. Proper Connecticut teaching certification (Elementary Education) also preferred. Must be able to keep data and have skills in Google and Microsoft including Excel. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the teaching of reading and mathematics for all stages of development required. The successful candidate will be a member of a dedicated team who can work within a tight schedule teaching individuals and small groups very specific strategies to address identified areas of weakness. Minimum of two letters of recommendation written within last two years. Minimum of Bachelors degree required, copy of college transcripts, and teaching certificate if available.
Responsibilities: To provide intervention services in reading, writing or mathematics to students, under the direction of a certified teacher.
Terms of Employment: 32.5 hours a week as determined by building principal exclusive of a 30-minute lunch. Hourly wage and benefits in accordance with the Agreement Between the Avon Board of Education and CSEA,SEIU Local 2001 on behalf of Avon Para-Educators, Interventionists & Nutrition Services Employees.
