What are the responsibilities and job description for the Band Director position at Avon Local Schools?
This full-time position is for the 2024-2025 school year.
Grades 8-12 with possible team teaching of grades 6th & 7th
Bachelor's Degree in Music Education K-12
Responsible for the sole instruction of three high school concert bands & the 8th grade band.
This position includes the Head Marching Band Directorship for a program that is currently a competitive style marching band with the ability to transition to a non-competitive style band based on the needs of the students and program or the strengths of the director. The advanced high school concert band provides the orchestra wind and percussion sections for the full symphony orchestra.
The band director is responsible for working directly with the Avon Band & Orchestra Boosters as well as maintaining strong community relationships.
Additional supplemental contracts that are associated with the position could include a Pep Band.
