Purpose of Position:
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing the shipment and delivery of products, ensuring accurate and timely processing of orders, coordinating logistics activities, and maintaining effective communication with vendors, carriers, and internal teams. This role is critical in optimizing supply chain efficiency, minimizing delivery delays, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Process and manage outgoing orders, including order entry, labeling, and documentation.
- Shipping Coordination: Schedule shipments, prepare bills of lading, and coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels to meet shipment demands.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation (if applicable).
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with freight forwarders, transportation companies, and customs brokers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve shipping and delivery issues, including delays, damages, and discrepancies.
- Cost Management: Negotiate shipping rates and manage shipping costs to optimize budgets.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Reporting: Generate reports related to shipping metrics, costs, and efficiency for management review.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve shipping accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or supply chain role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with domestic and international shipping regulations and logistics practices.

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Cleveland, OH is $19.03 to $23.06 hourly. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
