Purpose Of Position
At Team Wendy, The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on analyzing, improving, and maintaining quality systems, investigating quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, design, and suppliers, to identify and resolve quality challenges and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum (but excluding persons in nonimmigrant status such as H-1B, L-1, F-1, etc.) or non-U.S. citizens.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality System Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits as required.
- Product Inspection and Testing
- Oversee and perform inspections of materials, products, and processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Develop and implement testing protocols and quality standards.
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
- Investigate and resolve product quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Track and report on non-conformance issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Supplier Quality Management
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material and component quality meets specifications.
- Conduct supplier audits and assist in supplier development initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead quality improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of quality control processes, audits, and test results.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration and Training
- Work with cross-functional teams to address quality challenges and improve processes.
- Provide training to employees on quality standards and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Proficiency in quality inspection tools and software (e.g., statistical analysis tools, CAD).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with teams and suppliers.
- Certification in quality management systems (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in relevant industries (e.g., FDA, AS9100, IATF 16949).
