Description
Avondale House is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit agency that provides, educational services to individuals with autism, a day program for adults, where clients receive training in daily living skills and pre-vocational activities, employment services for those with disabilities and four residential homes for individuals unable to live in their own home. Avondale House has been serving individuals with autism since 1976.

Hours: Flexibility required, must be available nights/weekends/on call (rotating schedule)
Classification: Full-time Regular, Hourly, Exempt
Job Duties:
- Schedules, prepares for, attends and assists residents with medical appointments and ensures proper documentation process is followed.
- Prepares recreational calendar and plans residential activities.
- Attends clinics for all residential homes and offers input on health, behavior, and other aspects of resident’s well-being.
- Assists with implementation of the self-administration of medication program, auditing forms, medication storage, cleanliness, inventory management.
- Assists with weekly grocery and supply orders.
- Visits residential homes to ensure medication, menu, active treatment, and other compliance adherence.
- May serve as back-up for staff call-ins as needed.
- Rotates on-call duties on a continuous basis.
- Consults with Residential Manager on staffing concerns and performance feedback.
- Assists residential staff in other duties as assigned in order to ensure operational excellence of the Residential Program.
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate Avondale House Core Values: Commitment, Achievement, Respect, integrity, Nurturing, Growth.
- Bachelors’ degree preferred.
- Two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD) including autism.
- Residential Group Home Supervisory experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Available for on-call scheduling and available in the event of an emergency.
- Ability to manage behaviors according to state and Avondale House policies.
- Valid Driver’s License and insurability required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to implement crisis intervention.
- Lifting/Moving up to 50 lbs and lifting moving up to 100 plus lbs with assistance.
- Ability to stand on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Stooping, kneeling, pushing and pulling may be required in this position.
- Must be capable of physically restraining clients if necessary.
- Must be able to handle situations that may be stressful at times.
