What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cement Mason position at AVR Inc?
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may change from time to time:
- Able to set forms to specifications to pour concrete, off rod and finish concrete.
- Able to work on either a hand crew or a machine crew.
- Assist laborers who are involved in the concrete process, as needed.
- Ensure that the final product meets industry standards.
- Pass all required classes to be a certified mason (ADA/ACI classes).
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- 1-2 years of mason experience or applicable industry experience, preferred
- Positive attitude, willing to learn, and gets things done
- Maintains order and structure to their daily schedule
- Have a high regard for safety standards
- Ability to work in the outdoor elements surrounded by heavy equipment and loud noises
- Must be extremely vigilant on observing surroundings due to moving equipment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 18 years of age or older
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug test
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work everyday Ability to work throughout the entire season, mid- April to November
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to kneel and bend over for long periods of time
- Use motions throughout the day such as pushing/pulling, shoveling, and/or pull various material handling equipment to complete the job
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Must be able to work long, 10-12 hour days
