Are you looking for your next challenge? We are adding a role to our Tyee Operations to support our growth! As our Production Buyer, you shall be responsible for the procurement of Production Services, related to work orders, to meet production goals. You will be coordinating these services with the Warehouse, Operations and Scheduling Teams to ensure timely movement of parts in and out of the facility. The Production Buyer will create and leverage tools and processes to establish and maintain smooth production flow, while meeting schedule needs and budget.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Research and engage alternative vendors who are approved to complete the required services to spec.
- Evaluate supplier information and analyze quotes to engage optimal vendors based on best total value and lead times for services required.
- Place purchase orders with suppliers accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work with the Accounting team to resolve invoice discrepancies during the invoice approval process.
- Assist in providing Production Control coverage when required.
- Coordinate with materials team, management and production areas as required.
- Ensure shortage risks are effectively communicated to production and management teams.
- Follow requirements for PPV and provide justification as necessary.
- Formulate short- and long-term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of part supply.
- Negotiate long term contracts – pricing agreements with service suppliers.
- Develop and maintain service suppliers who share in AvtechTyee’s ideals of total quality, as well as continuous improvement on part and service quality, delivery performance and total cost.
- Work with Supplier Quality to conduct Performance Readiness Assessments with suppliers.
- Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar focus
- 2 years of industry related experience. Related experience could include several supply chain areas: procurement, logistics, materials management, inventory and/or warehousing
- Experience with Outside Service Vendors (Heat Treat, Plating/Coating, Machining)
- Understanding of personal computers and the various databases, spreadsheets, and reporting capabilities that are available to perform business functions
- Experience with ERP related software
- Demonstrated experience with effective Productivity / Continuous Improvement projects
- Strong focus and attention to detail
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong focus on customer service
- Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills
- Working with Lean Practices
- Background in aerospace manufacturing
- Experience in Production Control
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization**
