What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer position at avua?
Responsibilities:
- Leading the civil engineering design process for solar energy projects, including site layout, grading, foundation design, and road infrastructure.
- Conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate land suitability and identify potential challenges or constraints for solar installations.
- Collaborating with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and environmental consultants to gather site data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
- Developing detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for civil works associated with solar projects, adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Managing the procurement process for civil construction materials and subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality control and safety standards are met on-site.
- Providing technical support during the construction phase, resolving any civil engineering issues that may arise, and overseeing project execution to ensure successful delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure projects or renewable energy preferred.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, GIS) and familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design techniques relevant to solar energy projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities effectively.
