Avventura Bakery & Deli in Southington, CT is looking for one deli to join our team. We are located on 30 Knotter Dr. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

Summary of Duties

Greet and Welcome Avventuras Guests, make Sandwiches, Slice, Prep, package, weigh and sell various deli items and bakery products, including meats, cheeses, sides and salads and desserts. Maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the deli, including display cases. Provide Guests with an exceptional dining experience.

Highlight of some Responsibilities, and Accountability

• Provides a high level of service to our guests. Answers questions and recommend deli and bakery items. Answer phone calls and takes special orders.
• Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, Prepares and packages special orders and party platters.
• Receives and inspects deli shipments. Displays, stocks, rotate, and stores deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
• Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards. Checks for out-of-date products daily and follows appropriate product salvage policies and procedures.
• Ensures deli under-stock are rotated.
• Operates and handles deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department, including, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli and bakery coolers.
• Ensures Deli is optimally cleaned, must vacuum, sweep mop and take out trash.
• Maintains all policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting in other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Work experience in a deli department is preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual/power slicers preferred.
• Servsafe Certification preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
