Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining industrial machines
- Producing precision tools
- Interpreting technical drawings and instructions
- Ensuring that all operations adhere to safety protocols
- Checking that all equipment produced works correctly
- Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
- Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly
- Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
- Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
- Read blueprints and sketches
- Properly set up, program, operate and disassemble CNC mills and lathes, as well as manual mills and lathes
- Use CNC software
- Use precision measuring tools
- Monitor machine speed
- Analyze products for quality and defects
- Smooth part or product surfaces
- Make part modifications as required
Qualification / Requirements:
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Proven experience as machinist
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process
