Mechanical Engineer II - Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineering II is a mid-level engineering role that will be responsible for the design of car wash equipment and car wash tunnel layouts. Mechanical Engineer II has more responsibilities and working knowledge of the mechanical engineer role. The role will emphasize ideation and innovative design for car washing equipment.
Mechanical Engineer II - Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create advanced equipment designs using Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD software.
- Act as a mentor and provide guidance to entry level engineering on various tasks.
- Generate creative and innovative ideas to address technical challenges or improve existing systems.
- Design FMEA Analysis (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) - stablishing, analyzing, and mitigating technical and commercial risks during design process
- Stage Gate New Product Development Process - establishment of timelines for product development, validation, and launch providing more predictable product roll-outs
- Design building and site layouts.
- Create and update shop manuals.
- Completes and reviews engineering change notices (ECN).
- CNC machine and tube laser programming including troubleshooting.
- Verify specifications for design data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Locate files relating to specified design project in database library, load program into computer, and record completed job data.
- Review work orders and procedural manuals and confer with staff and customers to resolve problems and modify design.
- Continuously improves existing machinery and processes to increase throughput, reduce scrap and improve quality.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Mechanical Engineer II - Qualification / Requirements:
- 5 plus year’s experience in a Mechanical Engineer role
- Advanced skills of Inventor and AutoCAD
- Experience with parametric modeling, assemblies, sheet metal fabrication
- Advanced skill with AutoDesk Products
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Clear communication and ability to give aid to entry level engineers
- Machine shop experience required
