We are seeking a Master Planner to lead our production planning team, working cross-functionally with the Operations team and our cultivation sites to lead the overall scheduling function for the New Jersey operations facility.

Location : Onsite in Franklin, NJ operations facility

Responsibilities :

  • Develop Master Production Schedule in company system to prepare requirements for purchased and manufactured parts.
  • Develop balance between existing and future client demand needs with manufacturing and vendors to ensure completion of client requirements.
  • Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan for designated products. Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new business opportunities. Analyze and identify risks associated with the options built into the Master Production Plan, including manufacturing lead times. Schedules emailed to the plants monthly.
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan.
  • Perform supply-demand analysis each quarter, highlighting areas of concern for the next 12 months.
  • Review sales forecast with the business manager on a monthly basis and suggest modifications consistent with knowledge of current or historical demand.
  • Ensure coordination with plant schedulers to execute the Production Plan on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels on both a cost and unit basis.
  • Maintain finished goods inventory at target levels to ensure high service levels, i.e. product availability.
  • Monitor continuously all problem inventory, take advantage of conversion opportunities if any and recommend solutions for scrapping and potential.
  • Identify gaps and drive solutions on production performance relative to the requested production schedule.
  • Evaluate data inclusive of enterprise requirements for planning information.
  • Prepare reports required to facilitate and suggest actions to assure optimal execution of supply chain.
  • Supervise company stability, oversee reasons to schedule changes and ensure root causes for volatility of schedule being resolved.
  • Support the S&OP process meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications. Update the Master Production Plan as necessary.
  • Assists in the creation of department goals, plus constant process improvements and facilitate problem-solving teams.
  • Select procedure and techniques to develop best-practice schedules for projects.
  • Identify and recommend feasible solutions to plan operational issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • 5 years of direct, hands-on production scheduling experience in manufacturing or related industry, with 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Business or Supply Chain field.
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency measurements.
  • Experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
  • Ability to reason and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness.
  • A proactive problem-solving methodology - acting as a catalyst for bringing the right team members together to resolve issues that create risk of shipment.
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude for motivating others and building team unity.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • A highly organized, open-minded & motivated self-starter.
  • A high level of communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) is required.
  • Ability to report findings and KPI's to SVP of Operations
  • Physical Requirements

    The position must occasionally lift, push, pull and / or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, this position is occasionally required to sit and regularly use hand(s) to handle, grasp, feel, and or touch. This position is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. This position requires you to speak and listen regularly.

    Work Environment

    This position performs duties in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
