Awanui Labs Dunedin (previously known as SCL) provides high quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, healthcare professionals and their patients. We have been serving community with our expert Medical Diagnostic services since 1960.
About the role | Mō te tūranga:
Our Dunedin laboratory is looking for a medical typist to join our team in the Histology department, typing accurate histology reports for pathologists in addition to general office/administration duties.
The role will entail assisting with work across the Awanui network.
This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is interested in working in a challenging, patient focused, professional health field in a busy and sometimes demanding role.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain accuracy, speed and attention to detail to ensure quality standards are up held at all times.
- Answering phone calls from patients and referrers.
- Other office tasks as required.
To succeed in this role, you will need | Kia angitu, me whai koe i:
- Previous clinical typing experience (anatomical pathology preferred)
- Fast (minimum 60 wpm), accurate typing (accuracy favoured over speed)
- Knowledge of office systems.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- An organised and methodical approach to tasks.
- Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.
- Reliable attendance.
