- Must meet requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards and any local, state and or agency policies and procedures.
- Leading and inspiring team to deliver services to children and families across Montana
- Writing, updating, and overseeing all grants.
- Hiring, mentoring, coaching, and evaluating the performance of EHS managers.
- Encouraging and supporting professional development opportunities.
- Promoting a consistent exchange of information in all directions.
- Promoting training that meets team and individual needs.
- Participating in the design of EHS internal structures, systems, and policies.
- Ensuring adequate systems in place to maintain highest quality of EHS services to children and families in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
- Ensuring consistency in EHS service delivery with attention to inclusive practices and integration of component areas; encourage continuous improvement of systems.
- Ensuring coordination among components, across levels and with the organization.
- Develop and monitor Memorandums of Understanding with community partners.
- Participate in development of EHS program and Community Child Care interagency agreements and contracts.
- Overseeing annual Program Information Report (PIR) as it relates to EHS.
- Preparing EHS monthly program reports for Board of Directors and Policy Council.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships and collaborations with Part C, public school districts, systems of higher education, and other community agencies and partners.
- Attending interagency organizational and planning meetings as appropriate.
- Participating in professional development activities and organized community events.
- Designing and delivering formal presentations.
- Participation in the development of collaborations and facility development for future expansion of families and/or services.
- Assisting Grant Fiscal Manager in development/oversight of EHS program budgets.
- Assisting with preparation of annual federal grants.
- Interacting with members of Board of Directors and Policy Council, attending meetings as needed.
- Attending other agency planning meetings as required.
Requirements
Required Skills, Abilities & Education:
- A thorough understanding of the above-noted services, individuals, resources, and tools.
- The ability to assess services from a strengths model perspective, along with the skills, knowledge, and abilities to develop a theoretical perspective.
- The ability to work with a variety of people.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
- A BS/BA Degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education/Development, Human Services, Health Care Management, or Business Administration
Preferred Skills & Abilities & Education:
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration, along with direct employment experience is preferred.
- Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
