Interior Designer Description
This on-site Interior Design position at a Clarksburg, WV, federal client site is responsible for supporting interior design project/s while ensuring client expectations are met. The candidate will coordinate effort between clients, teaming partners, and Awen Solution's company staff while facilitating positive relations among all stakeholders. This position requires the staff to work within a team, and also to make independent decisions and to work independent recommendations for client products.
- Lead and support design meetings with client users to gather requirements.
- Generate and/or validate Comprehensive Interior Design (CID) package by utilizing design tools (e.g., AutoCAD/Sketchup) to plan the space according to the contractual requirements.
- Responsible for preparing certain Design Submittals to include lay in all FF&E into drawings, drawing revisions, research of furniture items and verify manufacturer’s information
- Develop CADD and/or 3D Renderings/images using a variety of tools
- Develop datasheets/cut sheets with salient characteristics for specified FF&E
- Develop artwork plans and themes and coordination of signage as required
- QC drawings against room contents list to ensure accuracy
- Participate in User Group Meetings
- Working with client to finalize all finishes and elevations
- Create/organize, compile necessary information for submittal binders (proofreading, packaging, assist in printing and binding/assembling work products)
- Participate in the development of RFP’s for FF&E
- Evaluate bids and make recommendations
- Participate in the inventory process for reuse evaluation of existing FF&E
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience with interior design, with a preference towards healthcare design or federal buildings.
- A related degree in design, art, architecture.
- Preferred, but not mandatory, a National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification o or American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) certification.
- Well versed in furniture, fixtures, casework/case goods and signage, and be able to translate requirements into design/construction/installation documents.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office are important, as well as client and time management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
