Under the supervision of the Dry Mix Production Room Supervisor, the Cement Bagger is responsible for filling, stacking, and palletizing bags of cement-based products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and adjust the bagger machine to ensure correct weight and filling of bags.
- Ensure the correct type of bag is used for each product, based on instructions.
- Monitor bag weight to ensure it meets specifications, adjusting the machine as needed.
- Ensure the proper process order and expiration date are clearly stamped on each bag.
- Immediately report any issues to the supervisor or maintenance for resolution.
- Maintain cleanliness in the bagging area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to stay focused and perform tasks efficiently over extended periods.
- Ability to coordinate actions with others.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to follow instructions from the supervisor.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Must work safely, follow safety protocols, and wear required PPE.
- On-the-job training is provided.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work under deadlines, ensuring tasks are completed on time to avoid disruptions or added costs.
- Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Must be able to lift and carry bags weighing 45-75 lbs.
- Must have visual acuity to distinguish labeling and numbers on bags.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods on a concrete floor.
- May be exposed to cement dust and other contaminants.
- Must wear required PPE, including dust mask, hard hat, safety glasses, and protective footwear.
- The Dry Mix Room is typically climate-controlled (80ºF - 100ºF) but can be dusty and noisy.
- Prolonged exposure to cement dust and noise is common.
- PPE is required at all times in the production area.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, generally 8 hours per day, with minimal overtime.
