Position Summary
Responsible for growing sales with our member stores by working with category management, buyers, specialists, and members on promotions, ad programs, and competitive pricing in Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD), AWG Brands, and VMC departments. Work with procurement to ensure the division has the correct item mix and proper weekly inventory. Work with procurement to ensure the division has the regionally correct item assortment and ensure proper inventory levels to achieve Company standards for service level goals. Assist in new business development, cost and product comparisons, and new potential member presentations.
Position Responsibilities
Work with Division and Corporate to Develop and achieve budgeted expectations for department sales, gross margins, gains, promotional spends, and expense control in Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD), AWG Brands, and Advertising departments. Ensure compliance by reporting variances to the Vice-President/Division Manager.
Monitor procurement of products to assist in attaining budgeted service levels, proper turns, gains, and adequate inventory levels.
Provide direction to category management on selection, purchasing and pricing of division-specific Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD), and AWG Brands lines.
Maintain contact with key regional suppliers to assist in driving sales in the division.
Work directly with Member Services Director, District Sales Managers with new member conversions, new stores, expansions, and remodels. Provide direction and assistance with the implementation of AWG merchandising and marketing programs designed to drive retail sales.
Collaborate on the activities of retail pricing at the division level; working directly with retail pricing manager to maintain functional and competitive retail pricing models and programs designed to grow retail sales.
Directly responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities involved with division food shows.
Select, train, develop, and appraise departmental personnel to ensure qualified staff and provide qualified people for promotion to greater responsibility.
Make timely visits to member group headquarters and individual stores. Developing and maintaining a professional, helpful, and friendly relationship with all member store retailers.
Support company philosophy on all aspects in accordance with stated positions in regards to trade, associates, and retail members.
Perform other duties as requested by the Vice-President/Division Manager.
