UL Solutions is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to maintain a solar monitoring system (SMS) located near Union City, PA. The SMS consists of solar panels, tripods, scientific measurement equipment, and a locked chain link fence. Your duties will include:
Responsibilities
This role requires occasional assistance in replacing or troubleshooting equipment. A Senior Engineer will contact you to guide you through the process, providing support while onsite and reviewing data after the equipment repair.
Qualifications
We do not require prior solar experience. Training will be provided remotely via phone and video, with potential onsite training available. You must be able to receive instruction remotely throughout the contract term. You will need to use your own transportation to and from the remote SMS location (4WD highly recommended). You should be willing and able to walk to and from the site, typically no more than ¼ mile in one direction. You are also required to own or have access to a gas or battery-operated weedwhacker for occasional grass management, with additional compensation provided. Climbing and working comfortably from a 6 or 8-foot ladder (provided) is also a requirement. You will need to demonstrate computer literacy, including the ability to upload attachments using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) to our SharePoint website with reliable internet. A smartphone is required for taking site photos and communicating with UL Solutions' staff while on site in case of an emergency. Finally, you must treat all applicable information as confidential.
Compensation
You will be compensated at $150 per visit, with additional compensation provided for occasional grass management.

- Maintaining equipment levelness and cleanliness on a weekly basis;
- Providing troubleshooting support from UL Solutions and performing low-to-medium complexity repairs when necessary;
- Clearing any debris obstructing the system, including grass cutting, snow removal, or clearing brush; and
- Safeguarding the system against tampering.
