Job Description
We will be installing a solar monitoring system near Union City, PA on behalf of one of our clients. The system consists of solar panels, tripods, and scientific equipment surrounded by a locked fence. Our team will monitor solar resources, meteorological parameters, and weather-related data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure highest level of communication as first point of contact for field equipment;
- Maintain equipment level and cleanliness on a weekly basis;
- Provide troubleshooting and repair support for low-medium complexity issues;
- Clean up debris, including grass cutting, snow removal, or clearing brush; and
- Verify system security and integrity.
Requirements and Expectations
- No prior solar experience is required – training will be provided remotely;
- Ability to take remote instruction throughout the contract term;
- Own transportation to and from the remote site (4WD highly preferred);
- Able to walk up to 1/4 mile to and from the site;
- Owning or having access to a gas or battery-operated weedwhacker for occasional grass management;
- Comfortable working from a 6 or 8-foot ladder;
- Basic computer literacy, including uploading attachments to SharePoint website; and
- A smartphone for taking site photos and communicating with staff.
Compensation and Benefits
$150 per visit, plus additional compensation for occasional grass management.
