Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is seeking experienced, motivated, and dedicated leaders and educators to participate in the design and delivery of an innovative four-year medical school curriculum that engages medical students in active and novel learning.
About The Position
The Program Assistant will work with the Curricular Affairs team to build a free-standing degree-granting medical school in Northwest Arkansas.
The Program Assistant will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the clinical education curriculum in all four years. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient scheduling, faculty coordination, and clear communication with students and clinical site.

Major responsibilities/essential functions specific to the position:
- Support faculty scheduling, ensuring alignment with early clinical experience course, clinical clerkships and elective rotation requirements.
- Provide support for student clinical placements, including communication with faculty, preceptors, and clinical sites.
- Process expense reports in Workday to ensure accurate and timely reimbursements.
- Assist with departmental purchasing, including credit card transactions and purchase orders/invoice processing, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Monitor, track, and follow up on projects and action items related to the OCA.
- Execute tasks that require excellent multitasking, organization skills and attention to detail.
- Work independently on assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma
Minimum Work Experiences and Qualifications
- One to three years’ full time professional experience providing administrative support
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and ability to learn new software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Work Experiences and Qualifications
- 3 years of full-time professional experience
- Experience in higher education, medical education and/or healthcare
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Strong editing and writing skills
