Job Summary:

The Development and Compliance Manager at Axela Management is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the proper operational foundation of the company as it continues to grow. This role is focused on the development of the management company through the consistent refinement, auditing, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The manager will also ensure that all company systems, software, and internal logistics are operating at peak performance, fostering organization, continuity, and user engagement. This individual must have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to hold others accountable for adherence to processes and methods.

The role also encompasses compliance oversight, ensuring that the company adheres to applicable laws and internal policies while maintaining operational excellence across commercial, multifamily, and student housing properties.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Development and Logistics:

  • SOP Development and Auditing: Lead the creation, refinement, and consistent auditing of SOPs to ensure operational excellence across all properties.
  • Systems and Tools Optimization: Ensure company software, technology, and organizational frameworks (e.g., AppFolio, project management tools) are fully integrated, utilized, and performing at their peak.
  • Training and Engagement: Oversee training programs to ensure employees are proficient and engaged with company systems and processes.
  • Organizational Standards: Enforce high organizational standards, ensuring teams maintain alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide actionable reporting to the Director of Operations on company performance, process gaps, and areas for refinement.

Compliance Management:

  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all properties are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Housing, ADA, and zoning requirements.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce compliance policies and procedures across all properties.
  • Audit Preparation and Response: Prepare for internal and external audits, addressing deficiencies with corrective actions.
  • Team Training on Compliance: Provide training to staff on compliance and operational policies to ensure clarity and consistent application.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Monitor adherence to vendor agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Regional Property Managers to align operational and compliance initiatives with company growth objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance internal logistics and company-wide operations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on compliance and operational processes, providing guidance and solutions to property managers and teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and organizational excellence across the company.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in operational development, compliance management, or property management, with a proven track record of process improvement and system optimization.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Operational Excellence: Expertise in developing, implementing, and auditing SOPs to streamline operations.
  • System Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of property management software (e.g., AppFolio), Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of compliance requirements for multifamily, commercial, and student housing properties.
  • Organizational Expertise: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to enforce processes and hold teams accountable.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities to mentor teams and achieve organizational goals.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capacity to assess processes, identify gaps, and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Successful implementation and adherence to SOPs across all properties.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of compliance audits and corrective actions.
  • Employee engagement with company systems and processes, measured by usage rates and feedback.
  • Reduction in compliance violations or operational inefficiencies.
  • Continuous improvement in company-wide operational metrics and reporting accuracy.

Working Conditions:

  • Periodic travel to properties for audits and operational reviews.
  • Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
