Global Financial Firm located in Jersey City, NJ has an immediate contract opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist
This role is currently on a Hybrid Schedule.
You will need to have reliable internet, computer and android or iphone for remote access into the client systems during remote work.
We will be expected in the office weekly 2-3 days depending on the team requirement.

Pay rate range : $ 64.00 - $ 75.00 Negotiable based upon years of experience
Overview :
The Data Scientist must be able to work with large and complex data sets to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies. The ideal candidate has experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches with a passion for data & statistics.
Responsibilities :
Mine and analyze large sets of dataIdentify gaps and opportunities for improvementLeverage this data to develop strategic roadmapsDefine and deploy metrics for measuring process improvementInstitute feedback models to enable continuous process improvementConduct research and publish artifacts to drive simplificationReview / Author operational proceduresDistill information provided by subject matter experts and other partners into executive-level narrativesEstablish foundational and execution work streams for process improvement and automation initiativesPartner with Domain and Technical architecture teams to drive efficiencyTo be effective in this role, the candidate should possess the following :
5-8 years of Data Analysis, or relevant experience with at least 2 years as a Data Scientist.Knowledge and experience of a variety of exploratory data analysis, predictive modelling, anomaly detection and their real-world advantages / drawbacks.Experience using statistical computer languages like Python, R, etc.Working to deep knowledge of financial products and automation solutionsMachine learning experience is a plusExperience in predictive model a / b testing and training modelsExperience in complex data extraction techniques and data cleansing methodologiesAbility to deconstruct descriptive data into meaningful categories for predictive modeling and visual analysis.Responsible for documenting data requirements, data collection / processing / cleaning, and exploratory data analysis; which may include utilizing statistical models / algorithms and data visualization techniquesIdentifies and compiles data sets using a variety of tools (e.g. SQL, Access) to help predict, improve, and measure the success of key business to business outcomesExperience in all the phases of a software development lifecycle project including requirements gathering, analysis, design, and implementation through agile and / or waterfall and / or hybrid methodologiesExcellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to grasp new concepts quickly, lead diverse partners toward reasonable recommendations, and prepare decisions in a logical fashion with supporting impact, to aid in timely decision makingAbility to develop and manage a comprehensive program plan and dependenciesIntellectually curious, consistently seeking and developing new opportunitiesSelf-starter, with an ability to lead and execute work with limited to no supervisionAbility in strategic thinking and the ability to frame business problemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to understand detailed problem resolution discussions and condense pertinent facts for senior leadershipExperienced with data visualization tools a plus
