Marketing and Development Manager
Full-Time
$65,000/year
SCHEDULE: Full time, variable hours
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Director of Grants and Development, this position will work to diversify the agency’s funding base and increase community visibility, influence and interaction with the community through written materials, effective media channels, social media outlets, and public relations. Responsible for planning and executing fundraisers, bi-annual newsletters, special events and special campaigns with a focus on identified programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. In collaboration with leadership, develop and execute Family & Community Services annual Fundraising plan.
2. Assist with, develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors and planned giving strategies.
3. Assist with the maintenance of the donor database and ensure appropriate and timely gift recognition.
4. Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors.
5. Oversee the organization of special events and campaigns (such as holiday basket program and back to school supply campaign).
6. Work closely with the management team to focus fundraising endeavors, assist in planning and organizing events as identified and prioritized by leadership.
7. Participate in advisory board activities for select boards as needed.
8. Oversee social media activity, assist with maintenance of website.
9. Assist with and approve publications, including e-newsletters, bi-annual print newsletter, annual report and press releases.
10. Utilize and manage volunteers and interns in the Development Department.
11. Make public appearances to share information about Family & Community Services.
12. Represent FCS by participating in community activities, events, and collaboratives and build relationships with relevant community affiliates.
13. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience managing donor and fundraising software/data systems.
2. Exhibit strong interpersonal and writing skills.
3. Possess the ability to motivate staff, community members, and volunteers.
4. Be organized and exhibit follow through on tasks and goals.
5. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
6. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation) if applicable.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 3 years experience in professional fundraising or equivalent non-profit experience
