GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for daily shelter operations, program development and reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directly supervises Program Managers to ensure daily operations are running efficiently to serve the residents of five veteran shelters and one family shelter.
2. Works cooperatively with the Director of Veteran’s Services to ensure effective delivery of services; identifies and reports problems or unmet needs to Director of Veteran Services.
3. Practices and ensures proper trauma-informed care supervision, development, training, and evaluation for staff.
4. Submits timely statistical reporting to Director for the department of Veteran Affairs, and other stakeholders.
5. Provides on-call assistance to shelter staff as needed.
6. Models excellent communication, boundaries and professionalism.
7. Actively participates in regular team meetings for the purpose of program consistency, monitoring and effectiveness.
8. Ensures training for staff on best practice models in service delivery approach.
9. Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations and groups.
10. Participates in local community meetings, as instructed by the Director, about housing issues, and delegates staff to participate in meetings.
11. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to model trauma-informed communication, fair and equitable treatment, management of conflicts and work in a team environment.
2. Knowledge of trauma-informed care, client-centered model and conflict resolution.
3. Ability to network effectively with other professionals.
4. Possess high organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects at once.
5. Experience in managing teams and leading by example.
6. Experience working with families and individuals in a residential setting.
7. Must complete CPR and First Aid training.
8. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.
9. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Three years’ experience working with veterans, victims or perpetrators of domestic violence and/or homeless populations in a shelter setting preferred.
