Yosemite Valley Charter School & Monarch River Academy are tuition-free, public charter schools serving transitional kindergarten through 12th-grade students in Fresno, San Benito, Merced, Madera, Mono, Monterey, Tulare, Kern, Kings, and Inyo Counties. We take great pride in being able to offer our students flexible personalized learning experiences through our many unique and dynamic programs.
We are seeking a dedicated Transition Teacher to support students in grades 9-12 with mild/moderate (MM) disabilities who have IEPs, as well as 8th graders who are 14 years old and preparing for high school transition. Under the supervision of the Director of Student Support, this role involves working closely with other MM Transition Teachers to provide live Transition classes, SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Live Classes, and SEL Learning Launchpad instruction to help students develop essential life, career, and self-advocacy skills.

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills:
Strong understanding of SEL frameworks, trauma-informed practices, and transition planning.
Ability to engage students in interactive, real-world learning experiences.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Mild/Moderate California Education Specialist Instruction Credential.
- Teaching experience in Special Education, Career Readiness, or SEL Instruction is preferred
